This is based on a dream I had the other night. One that caused reflection, but the meaning was evident. Then the day after the dream the Lord gave me a scripture. The scripture and dream interlocked. It was apparent in society and leadership across all levels of our great nation.
In my dream I was going on a short weekend vacation with my mother. We traveled north to pick up two of my childhood acquaintances, they were sisters. I had called in advanced and advised them to be ready between 10:00 am and 10:30 am, because we were wanting to get the most of our day, Friday. Our destination was a couple of hours away from their location.
When we arrived the eldest sister Lisa was ready to go except for finishing her packing. The other sister, Lori, who was my age was no where to be seen. Lisa advised she had to run an errand but would be right back. We waited a bit while I assisted Lisa in finishing her packing. Still no Lori.
I called Lori and she apologized, she advised there were still things she had to do, but should be home in couple of hours. I advised desire to get to destination early, but she stated her needs were important and she would be home shortly.
I advised my mother and Lisa of situation. While waiting I decided to assist Lori in packing. Her room was scattered, as though a whirlwind had arrived to bring chaos and disorder. I found her clothes and neatly packed her bag.
A couple hours later there was still no Lori. I called again and she stated she was not finished with what she wanted to do, but would be home soon. I advised our desire to leave and she stated to wait she would be there soon.
This went on for several hours until it started getting dark. My mother had used her time to contact two of my female cousins to join us, Terri and Shannon. Terri arrived with Shannon’s brother Jake, but Shannon would be a little bit later. Jake invited himself on our vacation and both he and Terri advised they were all going out that night with Lori when we got to our vacation destination. They did not want my mom to know.
Lori called advising she was on her way home, this was almost 12 hours after our arrival. I was going outside to check vehicle and passed an area that was such a mess, full of boxes, printer, two large boxes of shredded paper and other items scattered about. Lori’s mother passed by and advised that was Lori’s things. She stated she tried to get Lori to clean up, but she always stated she never had time. Lori’s mom said she tried to clean up the area but she did not know what to do with all the mess.
By the time Lori arrived she was ready to leave again, telling us we would just have to wait on her. Terri left with Jake to go out and meet Lori. Shannon never showed up. I advised mom we would just go without them, because I had to be to work early Monday. We would just go alone.
Dream ended, my thoughts after waking was selfishness. Self centered behavior with no responsibility or concern for others. This applied to all, except Lisa. Thinking about these individuals in real life I knew this had once been their true behaviors.
The scripture the Lord gave me was Isaiah 39. This scripture was about king Hezekiah allowing two men from the king of Babylon to visit the palace and see all the items in his house and dominion.
Isaiah came to king Hezekiah and asked who came to visit and why? The king advised they came to see him from the Kingdom of Babylon.
Isaiah advised king Hezekiah that all that had been laid up in storage would soon go to Babylon and all of his sons would end up serving the king of Babylon. This was a prophetic word from God, but response king Hezekiah had was unexpected. The king only stated good, at least these things will happen when I am gone.
There was no concern for his nation or family. He only cared about himself.
By the king allowing the two Babylonian men to see what was stored became the end of a nation. Selfishness to not repent to God for such a thing would destroy the nation, so this only ensured a nation’s downfall.
Does any of this sound familiar? It should, we are watching groups in action all in a major and detrimental way.
